The pedestrian charges should have been capped at Kes1,500.00 at most….. What they are doing is trybf to make a kill and creating avenues for extortion.

Watch this space…… someone will go to court saying they are unconstitutional and unreasonable!

    For the effort….its a B+ achievement……… I can predict a E here….!

Just another avenue for harassment of pedestrians and motorists, and of course the lining of city council askari pockets.

I would like to know what they have for matatus!!! obstruction, stopping at anywhere with no care for the other motorist whatsoever!

Good question Anne, infact they should have piloted the fines with the Matatus alone and see how orderly this city would have been but as Wes said …………..its revenue fast, public welfare baadaye

ok when did kanjo start looking at things like worn out tyres and seat belts?when has this become a city council issue?

plus what work will the “ever efficient” traffic cops be doing???

    i sense a police/kanjo beef

In an ideal world the constituition should give the government a framework for policy development which then translates into law. This seems to be the problem with the Kenyan govt … always working backwards!!! starting with laws but you cant really tell what the intentions are!!

I think the biggest problem is that The City Council’s main objective has less to do with policy or even public good, but more to do with revenue generation; this implies they’d actually want/encourage breaking of these rules just to balance their books

This will boost their revenue if put hnto action and create the much needed order in the city.
